Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
1. Overview
This policy explains what data Kricket (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and how it's handled. Kricket is built for cricket clubs registered on Play-Cricket, letting you view fixtures, results and league tables, live-stream matches to YouTube with a real-time score overlay, record matches on-device, and manage more than one connected club from a single account.
2. What Data We Collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and a unique user ID created when you sign up.
- Photos and videos — footage you record or livestream through the app.
- Camera and microphone access— used only while you're actively recording or streaming a match.
- Basic usage data — technical information (such as app version and device type) used to keep the app working and secure.
We only collect data linked to your account for the purpose of running the app's features — we don't use it for advertising or tracking, and we don't sell it.
3. How We Use Data
- To provide core app functionality — fixtures, results, league tables, streaming, recording and your video library.
- To sign you in, whether by email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple.
- To connect to your YouTube account and publish or livestream video on your behalf, once you've authorized it.
- To retrieve fixtures, results and league table data for the clubs you connect.
- To maintain the security, stability and performance of the app.
4. Third-Party Services
Kricket connects to a small number of third-party services to work. Each of these processes data under its own privacy policy, not ours:
- Google and Apple — used to sign in to your account.
- YouTube— used to livestream and publish your match videos. We store a YouTube access token securely, server side, so the app can stream and publish on your behalf; your video content itself is governed by YouTube's own terms and privacy policy once it's uploaded.
- Play-Cricket— the ECB's cricket scoring platform, used as a read-only data source for your club's fixtures, results, league tables and live scoring.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We only share data with the third-party services above, and only as needed to provide the features you've chosen to use (for example, sending a recording to YouTube when you choose to publish it).
6. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Recordings you make on-device stay on your device until you delete them or publish them. Once video is published or streamed to YouTube, it's retained and handled under YouTube's own policies, not ours.
7. Your Rights
You can, at any time:
- Access or ask us to correct your account data.
- Delete your account and its associated data directly from the Profile tab in the app.
- Contact us to ask what data we hold about you, or to raise any other request relating to your data.
8. International Use
If you use Kricket outside of the country your club is based in, your data may be processed in a different region as part of providing the service.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
